DAY ONE

The first entirely postliterary work from a Bulgarian author!

Life does not follow a straight and logical path of events. We see it like that in movies, read about it in novels and we believe in this illusion that is purely a result of the technical methods for writing scripts. We are far too accustomed to them.

But actually, every life story is created in real time. It is comprised of separate single situations, each demanding from us to take just one of countless possible decisions. We feel much more than we can remember.

And so this life of situations can develop in any direction at any time, zig-zagging its course between good and evil, between glory and downfall, constantly changing its destination.

Those are the stories I have collected in this book. Experience them!

What is postliterature?

Every revolution started with a book but nobody reads anymore. That means it is time for books to change!

The ideology is based on a book by Christopher Booker от 2004г – "The Seven Basic Plots", where he proves that every possible story or script in literature has already been written. Every story has been told thousands of times and there are only seven types of plots that can be associated with every story ever written.

That leads to the question: What remains original in a text if it cannot be the story? That is exactly what postliterature strives to find by creating a new literary aesthetic, experimenting and provoking the reader to take part in this debate.

What remains original?

The Author - his personal style and view of the world, his choice of words and the aesthetics of the text itself.

The Reader - postliterature provokes in unique ways because it adapts its messages and has different meanings depending on the individual reader's mood, character and personal experience.

Aesthetics

Emotional and fragmented, postliterature puts forward the aesthetics of the text and its design. Direct author-reader interaction provokes the reader's personal world and brings up questions and challenges.

THE READERS' OPINION ON

DAY ONE

Maria Kasimova-Moisset Journalist, editor, author

An undoubtedly talented person who surely has future in writing! Observes thoroughly, describes with a rich vocabulary, interprets differently. He should write! A lot! He has what is most important - the eyes and soul for understanding details and the talent to put them in words.

Reader Wizard Literature Blog

I recommend this book to everyone who wants to discover a new type of literature and experience the bold and though-provoking findings of a young Bulgarian.

Janeta Stoykova Author

Emotionally mature, witty and elegant, DAY ONE tells about love and other important things. I recommend it to all seeking (themselves, love...) as well as to those who are just curious!

Jivka Ganeva Linguist - European Parliment

I read the book and it should definitely reach the readers!
It is unconventional, it plays with the reader and has a good sense of humour!
The topic of pain in the beginning and the end is timeless, but offered in a very original way.

Аnna Vassileva Reader

I recommend DAY ONE as well as the Saturday Stories by the young and promising author Iskren Lilov!
His writing is multilayered and makes you think!
